Daedalist was commissioned by the Fort McMurray Airport Authority and installed in the main atrium of the new Fort McMurray Airport in the Spring of 2014.

"Daedalist examines the theme of human aviation as a visionary undertaking, wrought by human ingenuity and purpose. The taut lines of this piloted craft, its aesthetic informed by the dynamics of both flight and fancy, are laid bare to the eye and hence to the imagination.  In this space at the point of departure, at the threshold of arrival, the work engages the eye of the wondering child, the working traveler, the stalwart aviator - evoking in each a moment to ponder all that is held aloft in our ancient dreams of flight."
